You would be hard pressed not to find at least one skateboarder clad in the classic Chuck Taylor All Stars down your local skate spot nowadays. Since the addition of Aaron Herrington, Sean Pablo and Sage Elsesser amongst others, Cons has seen a massive  resurgence amongst skateboarders in recent years (aptly dubbed ‘The Cherrington Effect’ by Jenkem Magazine).

While the formula for their shoes is simple and effecive, Cons have a diverse range of skateboarders on their team. Kenny Anderson, Zered Bassett, Eli Reed and Jason Jesse have been with Cons since their earliest foray into skateboarding footwear. Jake Johnson has been one of the most notable additions providing his trademark no-comply abilities and wall ride prowess with the brand since his welcome to the team in late 2014. Whereas Ben Reamers and Tom Remillard bring some transition-based talent to the brand. Cons has also shown their support of European skateboarding with videos such as #PleaseCharge and Blend produced in association with Grey Skate Mag which focused on Harry Lintell, Mike Arnold, Matlok Bennett-Jones, Jamie Platt, Ollie Lock and Dom Henry who make up the UK Cons team.

One of the most notable aspects of Converse Cons is their strong, ongoing relationship with Polar Skate Co. Cons has sponsored a number of their riders for some time now and collaborated on several projects video and DIY projects with Polar. 2014 saw the two companies release limited edition colourways of the CTAS Low and High alongside an accompanying film, Manhattan Days. Directed and edited by Alv, ‘Manhattan Days’ saw Aaron Herrington, Kevin Rodrigues, David Stenström, Jerome Campbell, Dane Brady cruise through the streets of New York applying Happy/Sad jump ramps to various spots.

While the staple of Cons skateboarding footwear collection is without a doubt the Chuck Taylor Pro, the recent addition of the One Star has also proven to be an instant favourite with a Mid-Top version released in 2016. Converse’s classic vulcanised rubber sole that was first introduced with the Chuck Taylor has been a favourite of many skateboarders for decades and we’re sure it will continue to be.
